ウチのばあちゃん（98歳）が今年で最後になるかもしれないとマメにオリンピック観戦をしている。
今朝も「フフフ･･･大丈夫。野口は逃げ切るよ。」などと心の中でほくそ笑むワタシを尻目に「頑張れっ、頑張れよ縲怩｣。」と手を叩きながらテレビに向かって懸命に声援を送っている。
そんな時、予想だにしない質問がおもむろに飛んできた。
Q.「これは何里くらい走るんだが？」
「へ？何里って･･･。箱根八里の半次郎じゃあるまいし･･･そもそも1里って何キロだ？」
着物に使う尺や寸は指でこのくらいと示されて感覚的にわかっても、メートル法世代にとってこの単位差はあまりにもデカい。
で、早速テレビの前を離れググりましたよ。
